Broadway Bares 20 - Stripopoly
Posted on June 20th, 2010
Every year an astonishing number of stagehands, actors, dancers, designers and their friends volunteer for four days of a back-breaking labor to transform the dancefloor of the famous Roseland Ballroom into a large stage set with runways and (thousands of dollars worth of) donated lighting and sound gear that would rival many touring concerts and broadway shows. It truly is a heartwarming sight to see the flocks of people from different backgrounds, shows, and various unions work together in perfect harmony (and for free!) to make this show a reality.
Come check out
Broadway Bares 20 "Stripopoly"! I'll be there, but I'll be fully clothed; some beautful broadway dancers on the other hand, not so much.
More Facelifts

So I did it again, a slight overhaul to the header and footer of the website. I've been looking for a way to get my logo/typeset that I've been using on my business cards and plots onto the site... success! I still haven't finished the web2.0 overhaul of the gallery sections, so as of now they're still old archive links. Maybe this month I'll finish those up...
Had an amazing opening night for
The Kid and we're in the last week of it's off-broadway run. It's not too late to go see this amazing show. With the summer slow-down between theatre seasons I've had some time to work on some other web designs and software products that have been collecting dust. With all these projects out of the way I'm hoping to take a small vacation to visit the extended family I've abandoned for the past several years.
The Kid Off Broadway

The website has been almost complete for about a month now, but I've been so busy working on a fabulous new show I havn't had a chance to finish her up. I have a few modifications to make to the design, but that'll have to wait.
The last few weeks we've been hard at work getting The New Group's new musical "The Kid" up and running. The show is based on the memoire by Dan Savage of the same name. Our first preview is tonight at Theatre Row in the Acorn Theatre. For more information or tickets
visit the show's website.
New Website

I've always said, the toughest client is yourself. Well I've probably redesigned this website once every 6 months for the past 5 or 6 years now. I think I'm happy with what I've done... for now.
I decided a few months ago that a blog would be the easiest way to keep my site up to date. I searched around and searched around and for the life of me couldn't find a blog that I liked that would easily cram into my own design template. I also don't really need all the bells and whistles that come with a standard blog, nobody that visits my site is going to subscribe via RSS. So for a while I just put it off. Well over the past month I've been redesigning the site and finally broke down and built my own blog program in PERL. It's a pretty cut and dry system using PERL and MySQL. It only took me the better part of an evening to write, granted it doesn't have a fancy editor, user accounts, or any of the nonsense. I figure I can add bells and whistles as I need them or as boredom influences me.
It's not all 100%, the blog program is being expanded and the portfolio section is still under construction. But when it's done it will be a fun web 2.0 viewing experience.
