Hi! This is the page where I tell you who I am and what I'm all about. My name is Sean Beach, and I generally like to refer to myself as a "Lighting Enthusiast" but I've got my fingers in a handful of different pies. On a given day, I'm either in some New York theatre working on the lighting, out taking photos of something, sitting in my office designing websites, coding websites, or writing desktop software. I like to keep busy, and I have a lot of expensive hobbies, I have an ongoing project where I'm building a robotic dragon.
I've worked professionally as a Lighting Designer, Assistant Lighting Designer, and Programmer on a wide variety of shows, ranging from dance, dramas, and musicals to corporate events. I have a BFA in lighting design from the North Carolina School of the Arts, in Winston-Salem, NC.
I'm passionate about technology, and consume user manuals for weird, complicated, and archaic gear at an alarming speed. I'm neurotic about standards based website design. Validate this page's XHTML here.
I write cross-platform computer software and program interactive website applications for fun, but you can hire me to do it too. At one point I was CCNA certified by Cisco and can program in C, REALbasic, PERL, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML/XHTML, and CSS. I'm moderately adept at C++ and ObjC (Cocoa for us mac users).
I also enjoy photography, I've volunteered as an EMT since 2005, my favorite icecream is Coldstone Cookie-Doughn't-You-Want-Some, long walks on the beach give me blisters on my big toes, and I can't juggle.
